Copysmith Review

Copysmith has a good reputation as an AI writing tool, so I thought I’d try it out myself to generate a blog post.

In this Copysmith review, I’ll run you through my entire experience using this platform. In general, I was impressed. Copysmith can do loads of things for content writers, and it produces some excellent results. However, there are a few things to look out for.

Follow this Copysmith review for my full experience.

What is Copysmith?

Copysmith is an AI writing platform that offers many different tools and features for content writers. You can use it to generate ad content, long-form blog articles, web copy, marketing content, and more. Copysmith also has some cool integrations, like an integrated plagiarism checker and an SEO keyword integration powered by Frase.

Overall Copysmith Review

I give Copysmith 4 out of 5 stars.

Pros

  • Copysmith generates high-quality content
  • Many different writing tools available
  • Decent value for money
  • Includes keyword and plagiarism integrations
  • Uses data scraping to gather information on each project

Cons

  • Quite difficult to use
  • The affordable plan has very limited credits
  • The content still needs a human touch

Conclusion

Copysmith is an excellent tool for content writing. It can help writers perform many different tasks, and it produces much better content than many other AI writers. The downside is that the tool is tricky to use, and it’s still not good enough to fully replace human writers. Overall, this platform can be a huge help to writers, but you will still need to do much of the work yourself.

Trustpilot Reviews

At the time of writing this Copysmith review, the platform has a 3.3-star average rating on Trustpilot (see here). There are only two reviews here – one 5-star review and one 1-star review, so this really doesn’t offer a lot to go off.

G2

Copysmith has a more impressive 4.5-star average rating on G2 (see here). Again, this is only based on two reviews. However, both reviews are very positive. g2 copysmith reviews

My Copysmith Experience

For this Copysmith review, I used the AI writer to generate a blog post for me. I’ll run you through my entire experience, from signing up to reviewing the end quality of the article.

Signing Up

Like any other AI writing tool, Copysmith is quick and easy to get started with. Luckily Copysmith offers a free 7-day trial, which is what I used to try the platform out.

All you need to do is click “start your free trial”, add in a few bits of basic information about yourself and your business, and then your profile is all set up.

It only takes about 5 minutes to get set up with Copysmith. Once your profile is created, you will be able to access a dashboard that looks like this:

Pricing

Once you have finished your 7-day free trial, Copysmith offers four different pricing options. These are:

  • Starter at $19/month
  • Professional at $59/month
  • Teams at $118/month
  • And a custom Enterprise option

The Starter option offers the best value compared to all of the other major AI writing tools, but this option is limited to 50 credits per month and 20 plagiarism checks per month. If you need to use more than this, you can get unlimited credits from the other plans.

Overall, Copysmith offers pretty good value, and it’s nice to be able to be specific about a pricing plan according to your needs.

Using the Copysmith AI Writer

I found Copysmith to be a little bit more confusing to work with than other AI writing tools. I got the hang of it after a bit of practice, but it’s not as straightforward as tools like Rytr or CopyAI.

When you use Copysmith, you start by creating a project. This allows you to add all of the relevant information for the site you’re writing for, which Copysmith scrapes.

Once your project is set up, you can create tasks inside it. For this Copysmith review, I created a blog post. So, I chose my Contentellect project and selected my tool on the left side menu. I started by using the blog outline generator.

This was simple enough to use. You add the blog title, a brief description of the blog post, and you can choose between a few expert tones of voice. I wanted to generate a guide on SEO.

The platform then generates a couple of different blog outlines that you can choose from. These were all very short, with only a few main sections covered. However, once you start writing them, Copysmith can generate additional headings and subheadings.

I went with the first outline which was pretty solid:

To start using this, you just add it to a new free form document, which is similar to a Google Doc.

Now you get to the free form editor where you can start filling in your content.

All you need to do is highlight the section you want to generate, choose “Generate More” on the right side and click “Add more”. Copysmith will then generate two things for you – a more in-depth outline, and a paragraph option.

This is very useful, as it allows you to break down big sections into more detail, or just write them as a short, broad section.

I started by generating a short paragraph on “What is SEO?”. This is what I got:

Short, accurate, and easy to read. Here’s another option (see the content on the right column):

If you want to add more to this, you just need to highlight the text and click “Generate More”. Then, if you like what the tool generates, you hold your cursor below this paragraph and click to add the new content into the doc.

Next, I decided to break down a bigger section. So, I chose section 3 “How to optimize your website for search engines”. Copysmith provided 11 different chapters under this section, these were good so I copied some over.

Then to fill them in, you just highlight the title of the chapter and ask the tool to generate you a paragraph. Here’s an example of what I got:

I like it. The tool writes in the first person, which is how I write blog posts. It must have picked this up from the data I provided when creating a project. This is great, as it helps you to achieve a consistent tone of voice with your website.

Copysmith also has introduction and conclusion generators. I find these to be very helpful additions to an AI writer, as some platforms, like Frase, don’t allow you to generate these sections. The only problem is that you have to start these as new tasks in separate editors.

Copysmith will generate a few different options. Here’s an example of what it wrote for my blog post:

copysmith editor

I’m actually really impressed by this. For an AI writer, the content reads very naturally and has a lot of human flair to it.

Copysmith has plenty of other tools to help writers. This includes tools for writing different ads, tools for brainstorming ideas, creating social media captions, rewriting and enhancing content,  creating landing page copy, and way more. Just like CopyAI, you get a lot of different options to help you write content.

I tried out the meta tag generator next. This was really cool. You add in all of the regular information (such as your blog title and website), but then you can also use the platform to find keywords for you. This is integrated with Frase:copysmith frase integration

I thought this was really useful. The meta tag options were also really good, and they are generated ready to insert into the backend of your blog:

These are just a few tools that Copysmith offers. Ultimately, the platform can be used to generate AI-powered content for just about any written requirement you have.

When using these tools, I found them to be a bit messy and difficult to use. You have to jump between multiple files and editors for the different elements of one blog post. It was also difficult to properly structure the content on the main long-form editor.

Content Quality

Now for the big question in this Copysmith review, how good is the content?

The short answer: I was impressed.

Copysmith is still not quite as good as Jarvis in terms of writing quality. There are a few moments where you can tell it’s AI-generated and not written by a human. A few small sections of my blog post didn’t make a lot of sense, and some chapters went a bit off-topic.

Other than that, the quality of the content was very good. I particularly liked how the tool uses a very natural, human tone of voice. The sentences flowed well into each other, the writing was broken up, and about 90% of the information included was perfect.

Would I Publish This Article?

After a bit of work, I would absolutely publish this article.

Let’s just remember that Copysmith, like other AI writing tools, still can’t replace a human writer. The platform can generate some very impressive content, it can help you structure blog posts and rephrase existing content. However, this will all need to be thoroughly edited by a human. You definitely can’t publish the content generated exactly as it is.

Copysmith did a better job than most AI writer tools, and I would certainly use it to assist the blog writing process.

What Errors Did I Find?

Copysmith generates content that is free from grammatical errors. It also has an integrated plagiarism checker to make sure you only generate original content.

Besides a few minor sections where the information went off-topic, Copysmith does a very good job of generating error-free content.

What About SEO?

As I pointed out earlier, Copysmith has a Frase integration to help you find keywords and automatically incorporate these into your writing.

When you include your main keyword or search term, Copysmith generates content based on the top search results. It’s a great tool to help you create SEO-friendly content, although I advise using additional SEO tools and processes to ensure your posts are properly optimized.
